Week 13 - Sing to me!
This week's copycat is to be inspired by a song title or band - yes a difficult one but I KNOW you are up to the challenge! Think Blue Hawaii (Elvis) with frangipanis and colourful prints, Grease - black leather jumpsuits (lol)and what about the band "Pink" that has to be too easy! There must be thousands of ideas out there! Please, when you email me the card let me know (in a couple of words) your inspiration so I can add it to the slide show like last week.
Speaking of last week - the winner is REBECCA- Congratulations!!!! Please email me your details!

Week 12 - Sweet Treats
This week the challenge is to draw inspiration from SOMETHING SWEET - by this I mean use layers of browns inspired by chocolate, red and white stripes like Candy Canes, all pinks like Fairy Floss, lots of little gems like sprinkles on cupcakes, yellow and white tones like on lemon meringue pie etc..Your card doesn't necessarily need to have a cake, lolly or whatever on it - it just needs to be inspired by the colours and designs of something sweet.
My son Harrison and I have been browsing through our Christmas recipe books and he spotted Peppermint truffles - he loves everything and anything minty so I guess they will be what we will be making tomorrow to "test" out - I also thought these yummy little treats looked perfect for a card I had in mind in of course... Greens and Browns.
When you send me your card it would be great if you could add the name of the sweet that inspired you. Remember it doesn't need to be a Christmas card - it can be any theme - just use your sweet tooth to inspire you!
Thanks for playing!!

Copycatcards Forum
Hi there - I hope your Flying cards are about to launch - only 2 days to go to get them in! The ones so far really look great!
I just wanted to let you know that I have created a forum for us to all have a chat. I have the opportunity through this blog to chat to our new friends via email but it occurred to me that you guys don't as we just have the space to put a name here under the cards.
So, there is a link to the scrapsidaisy forum I have for the shop but I have added a separate forum for Copycatcards - you will see it quite easily - feel free to add topics, have a chat, say hi - whatever - that way we can all get to know each other a little better through cyberspace.
Hope you can join in.

Great resource!
Hi there - hope your Friday is going well! I just wanted to share with you a great place to get some free downloads - it is the site of one of our major sponsors, Australian Paper Crafts - The link is http://www.australianpapercrafts.com.au.
You can download FREE projects and subscribe to their newsletter if you want to be updated on news and new projects.
Oh and if you love a chance to win some blog candy (freebies as we call it here in OZ) then I am offering up some new Bella! products on my blog all you have to do to be in the draw is to leave a comment - for extra chances to win you can subscribe to the blog which, of course is absolutely free. I subscribe to several blogs and love reading my emails of a morning jam packed with cards etc to drool over rather than just the usual business ones and spam!
Aren't the sympathy cards looking great? There's still time to send yours to me if you were thinking of joining in but haven't got around to it yet. Oh and I suppose you are all wondering what scrumptous Lizzie Anne stamp I am offering as a prize? Well I decided because of the great response I will give away NOT one but TWO SIMPLY SINGLES STAMPS (RRP $31.90!)... Remember there's still time to enter...just make a card and email it to me at barwell@aapt.net.au. All names will go into a random draw and the winner announced this Sunday.

Week 7 - Challenge
Wow can you believe we have been going 7 weeks! I cannot thank everyone enough for playing! What was a spur of the moment idea has turned into one of the highlights of my week! I hope everyone else is feeling the same way!
Now, onto the challenge. Sadly, I needed to make a Sympathy card this week and found it quite difficult. You want the card to say "I am there for you", you perhaps don't want it to be overly colourful but not overly sad and morbid either - very tough. So...I decided to throw the challenge to you talented ladies to show me what you do. Do you prefer to write "With Sympathy" or is "Thinking of you" more your style? Do you like the recipient to be cheered up by a bright card or do you prefer to use subtle colours and designs to reflect the mood. I would love to hear your comments on this very sensitive subject and also, of course to see your cards!
Here's mine to start - it is more a darker red/wine colour irl but you get the idea. I stamped some roses inside and also "Thinking of you" on the matching gold envelope. On offer this week for one lucky cardmaker will be one of my gorgeous Lizzie Anne stamps. I will choose one tonight and let you know what it will be plus the winner of last week's dazzling diamante buckles.

Week 6 - Mid Week - Inspired by a child
Front
Inside
Hi there - this card appeared on my desk this morning - one of the darling little surprise gifts I often receive from my sweet son Harrison. Maybe you have been given a sweet card by a child or have seen something in a child's artwork to inspire you? Perhaps a child's doodling is something that appeals? My challenge for you is to make a card inspired by something childlike. Look for interesting kindy fonts, use KindyGlitz, textas, stamp & colour, doodle, add comic or cutesy type animals...the ideas are endless!
